Aizhai is also the fourth suspension bridge in China to cross a valley so wide it seems to be connecting two mountain ranges, and of the world's 400 or so highest bridges, none has a main span as long as Aizhai.

Mratinje Dam
The Mratinje Dam is a concrete arch dam in the canyon of the Piva River in Montenegro. The dam is 220 metres (720 ft) high, one of the highest in Europe. The dam is 268 metres (879 ft) long and 4.5 metres (15 ft) thick at the crest, while it is 30 metres (98 ft) long and 36 metres (118 ft) thick at the base. The foundations go as deep as 38 metres (125 ft) into the ground. 820,000 cubic metres (1,070,000 cu yd) of concrete and 5,000 tonnes of steel were built into the dam.

One wall of the dam currently features the world's highest artificial climbing wall. A German manufacturer of climbing holds installed a line of over 650 artificial holds and bolts. The course covers a vertical distance of 165 meters, going from the base of the dam to the top.The climb must be done as a sport climb, in multiple pitches. Furthermore, the lowest holds were placed several meters above the ground to deter casual visitors from climbing on them.

Local Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur successfully organized a Two Week AICTE Sponsored Staff Development Program (SDP) on “Multi-Criteria Optimization Tools in Research” from 21-5-2012 to 1-6-2012. More than 100 faculty members from the different institutes of Delhi, Punjab and nearby states have participated in the programme. Eminent researchers and resource persons from reputed institutes delivered talks on different aspects of optimization tools.
The Valedictory Function held on 01st June 2012 was presided over by Dr. (Professor) Dinesh Kumar, senior most professor of IIT Roorkee. Dr Dinesh is a world renowned researcher in the field of Maintenance Management Strategies and Supply Chain Optimization. In his address, Dr Kumar discussed the various aspects of decision making with a focus on research and training. He was praise for the zest in young Punjabi academicians to go for teaching and research and hoped that the state would utilizae their academic potential for upliftment of society.
The Director of the Technical Campus, Dr. T.S. Sidhu, welcomed Dr. Dinesh Kumar on this occasion and also congratulated the Program Co-ordinator Dr. R.S. Bhatti and Co-coordinators - Dr. N.K. Grover, Dr. Tejeet Singh & Mr. Jwala Parshad for successfully organizing the SDP.
Dr. Sidhu emphasised the importance of Multi criteria decision making tools in today’s scenario having conflicting objectives. He said that the college has been actively engaged in research and this SDP would go a long way in motivating researchers from other institutes to collaboratively interact with the researchers in Ferozepur. He appreciated the research and outreach team for presenting this platform for sharing of knowledge and research findings. He said due to contribution of SBSCET towards quality education and research of international level, AICTE has recently converted this college into State Technical Campus. The Course Coordinator, Dr. Rajbir Bhatti, who has done his doctoral research from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee in the field of supply Chain Optimization, said that the course would be useful for the academia and the industry participants since optimization is a very important aspect of both the research fraternity and industry delegates. He said the AICTE had acknowledged the contribution of SBS State Technical Campus in the field of research by awarding this important training programme to the college.
